Montgomery County MUD 19 Upgrades to Smart Water Meters: What You Need to Know
June 4, 2025
Montgomery County MUD 19 has partnered with MMIA, Inc. and Accurate Meter to bring smart water meters to your district. The smart meters are more accurate and integrate online tools for water conservation and leak detection alerts. Our goal is to reduce water loss due to leaks, improve visibility of water usage trends for customers and district facilities, and accelerate reporting and handling of issues within the District’s distribution system. The District’s goal is to have a positive impact on the water system’s operational efficiency.
Residential Customers:
In the coming weeks, MUD personnel will be in the neighborhood to upgrade your meter. During the time of meter conversion, residential customers will experience no water pressure for approximately 30 minutes. Please keep an eye out for notifications on how to sign up for the new smart meter online system and application. Residents do not need to take any action at this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the MMIA office at 281-651-1618.
Commercial Customers:
Commercial smart meter conversion will take place after residential change outs are completed. Each business, or complex, will be individually notified of their specific day and time meter conversion will occur. During the time of the meter being changed out, you will experience no water. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the MMIA office at 281-651-1618.
